- MISSION STATEMENT -
The Miss National Pre-Teen Corporation strives to provide an opportunity for girls ages 5-8 and 9-12 to experience a State and National competition encouraging personal growth and academic excellence. These programs reward academics and achievement, interpersonal skills and public speaking ability.
The Miss National Pre-Teen Achievement Program has been celebrating excellence among pre-teen girls since 1980! It was the first program designed for pre-teens to include representatives from all 50 states plus U.S. territories. Miss National Pre-Teen was also the first pre-teen program to include academics and achievements as criteria in its selection of state and national candidates. Since 1998, state program participants have been eligible to compete for college scholarships awarded through the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of America.
Candidates in the Miss National Pre-Teen Program are girls who work hard to be their best, excel in school, are dedicated to their communities, and take advantage of their opportunities.
State and National
Candidates in the Pre-Teen Division are judged on the following criteria:
30% Academics and Achievements;
30% Personal Interview with the Judges;
20% Poise and Presentation in Gown, and
20% Personality Projection.
In Pre-Teen Petite
Division, for girl ages 5-8, candidates are judges as follows:
1/3 Personal Interview with the Judges;
1/3 Party dress Presentation, and
1/3 Personality Projection.
The National Competition is held both for state Titleholders and State Princesses (runners-up) in both divisions. At-Large Candidates are sought for states where a program is not held. Emphasis is placed on developing the resume, interview and public speaking skills, supporting personal growth and building friendships through the program experience.
At both the state and national levels, additional recognition is made for candidates who excel in optional talent, sportswear modeling and photogenic competitions. Other endeavors for which recognition and awards are available include writing and community service.
