Chapter 11
“Quest for the Dragons Eye”
Dredskif, upon his heavy warhorse was first back to the Dragonstooth. Dredskif’s tied his large Clydesdale to a post by the water troth.
His large wooden shield hanging from the horses side. He wore his two-handed longsword on his left hip, a large mace dangled from his belt, his longbow tied to the horses saddle with a machete also fastened to the saddle and his other machete hanging from his hip. The Minotaur wore his braces of Haste, a magic item allowing him to move at great speeds when activated, a jug filled with a healing elixir hung from his belt as did a canteen. Dredskif Bolthorpe stood over 8 feet tall and weighed near 350 pounds. Dredskif’s skin was blood red and he had black horns which extended skyward, his horns near a foot and a half long and near 6 inches in diameter at the base.
Kane arrived at the tavern next, tying off his quarter horse, he sat at the table. A longsword hung at Kane’s left hip, a shortsword and a war hammer at his right. A heavy recurve bow hung from his horses saddle, beside a quiver of flight arrows. His grey chameleon robe hung loosely over his suit of bandmail. Kane’s skin was a light shade of red and he had long straits black hair which hung slightly bellow his shoulders. Kane was near six feet tall, lean and muscular. Heir to the throne of Qualistay, Kane avoided going back to the city as he had been put into exile. He had murdered a fellow Crimson Elf and his choice was exile or death. Kane kept in contact with his father, Dryden Fisthir, and Dryden, king of Qualistay had been trying to clear Kanes name and have him allowed back into the city. The council of elders remained unwilling to allow him back.
Draven wore studded leather armor, 12 throwing knifes hung from the front of his armor. A longsword at his left hip and a large hunting knife at his right. Draven rode a quarter horse also, and his heavy recurve and two quivers of arrows hung in front of the saddle. Draven had a shaved head, save for a diamond sized patch on the back of his skull, his topknot hanging bellow his shoulders. He was cleanshaven except for a long braided goatee.
Aiken and Dekari rode together over to the porch of the Dragonstooth. Aiken wore his longsword on his left hip, his gladius ‘Retribution” on his right, and had a throwing knife harness across his front over his suit of Kulanian band mail with a large hunting knife hangging from his belt.
Dekari wore his fathers white platemail, a great helm, with a light blue cloak. His large, bronze, round shield, spare broadsword, and medium crossbow hung from his steed. Dekaris broadsword justice hung from his left hip, his shortsword and war-hammer, from his right
As the 5 companions climbed atop their steeds Firatri walked over to Dekari and stood beside the mounted Ironfist.
“Dekari,” Firatri said.
“Yes?” Dekari asked.
“Your Paladin training is complete, The long months here in Greendale have taught you much, “Firatri said.” Ancus and I Have talked and we feel your ready for the order.” Firatri pulled a ring out of his pocket and handed it to Dekari. “Wear this ring. It is imbued with the protection of Paial. This ring can create light, warn you of danger and cast holy beam once a day. Consider yourself a Paladin and fight for justice, defense of the weak and for a higher ideal wherever you go. Paladins are holy knights, as you know, you are not being sired as a knight with land, title and station. You are being sired as the right hand of justice. No law is above the law of the paladin. No laws apply to you. You are a force to be reckoned with, go and dispense justice.”
“Thank you Firatri,” Dekari said.
“Congratulations,” Aiken said. “Your dream come true.”
“Where are the five of you headed?” Firatri asked.
“Draven found a map, were going to follow it and check out where it leads,” Dekari said.
“Have a nice trip,” Firatri said.
“Firatri, I place you in charge of Greendale in my absence, “Dekari said. “Oversee the city as if you were governor.”
“Will do.” Firatri replied.
“Farewell,” Dekari said, prodding his horse and riding out of town north with his 4 companions.
The sun was low in the sky, the five rode along the dirt path leading north in the direction of Westwall fortress. Draven lead the party, read the map for landmarks. The five came to a fork in the road, the sign read left to Hillshire and right to Stillwater forest.
“The map says Stillwater forest above Greendale, with no mention of Hillshire. Lets take a right,” Draven said.
They took the right and continued. As the miles dragged on the forest grew thicker and the thick canopy above, allowed little light to reach the forest floor. The trees of Stillwater forest stretched to the sky hundreds of feet high with a thick network of vines intertwined at the top.
“This forest is fairly unsettling,” Kane said.
“I remember as a boy, father telling stories of people getting attacked and eaten on their way to Hillshire when they came too close to this forest,” Dekari said.
“Attacked and eaten by what?” Kane asked.
“Who knows every story differs,” Dekari said. It is most commonly said that this forest is home to Ogrith. An evil creature half ogre half demon, standing tall with clawed fingers and toes, larger and stronger than Minotuar with large wings, short, stubby horns, sharp teeth and short, thick tails.”
“Normally I wouldn’t think such a creature existed, but if one lived this creepy wood would be the place.” Kane said.
Dravens horse in the lead of the group reared and whinnied, spooked by something.
“There are other dangers in this forest aswell,” Aiken said.
Draven managed to calm his horse and the five continued deeper into the forest. The deeper they went into the forest the worse the road became. There had been a smooth path leading to Hillshire, once they had taken the turn into the forest there were no tracks of wagons or horses in the dirt. Roots overgrew parts of the path and it was slow going.
“This forest emanates death,“ Kane said “No grass, no ferns no plant life, save mushrooms on this forest floor. The growth of the canopy and the lack of light doesn’t allow any plant life down here to survive.”
“You guys smell that?” Aiken asked.
“Ough,” Dredskif said. “Smells like a goblin den.”
They came around a bend in the road to see 8 goblins and an ogre in a small camp with a fire. A large blackbear lay dead, with three spears and a dozen arrows still stuck in it. The goblins were eating cooked bear meat while the ogre was eating it raw.
“Form a line,” Dekari said, one of the goblins hearing, raised its head. “Start with missiles then engage in melee.”
The goblin let out a hiss and showed the party its little, sharp, pointed teeth.
Dekari fired his crossbow, lodging a bolt in the Ogre. Aiken, Draven, Kane and Dredskif all fired from their bows, each hitting their mark, the Ogre. The ogre let out a bone chilling angry scream, pulled the arrows from his body and charged the party with a huge club.
Aiken fired a precision shot at the ogre, lodging an arrow in its knee. Arrow in its knee and at a full run the ogre went down and smashed its face in the dirt. After another scream the ogre continued towards them. The 8 gobins following closely, three throwing spears, one glanced off Dekaris large bronze shield, one sticking in Dredskifs shield, and one missing, sticking harmlessly in a stump.
In two untimed volleys the 5 companions lodged more arrows in the Ogre. Only wounded the beast had a renewed rage, with a wide swing of its club it crushed the skull of Dekari’s horse killing it and sending Dekari down with it. His leg pinned under the horse, the Ogre went for the kill and brought his club down directly at Dekari.
“Aiken prodded his quarter horse, desperately urging his steed forward, and rode up to the Ogre. With a quick slice from ‘Retribution’, His gladius, Aiken slashed the upper arm of the ogre’s club hand, severing the limb. Arm and Club both dropping to the ground. Dredskif in an agile movement lept from the horse and landed on the Ogre, goring him with one of his horns and shattering several of the ogres ribs with a blow from his mace.
“Go for the other arm! Draven yelled to Kane.
Both Kane and Draven fired arrows both lodging deep in the ogres one good arm.
“Careful fools, you almost hit me!” Dredskif yelled.
Aiken, having run past the ogre, sheathed his enchanted gladius and drew his longsword then began trampling, slashing and stabbing the small goblins. A goblin sprang from Aikens flank and bit onto the horses leg with its many sharp little teeth, pulling a mouthfull of flesh from the beast, Aikens horse whinnied and bolted, Aiken falling off. Another goblin stabbed his spear deep into the horses neck killing it.
Surrounded by 4 goblins, Aiken wielded his shortsword in his off hand and his longsword in his right.
Kane knocked an arrow on his heavy recurve bow, aimed and fired. The arrow sailed past Draven, past Dredskif and past Dekari sticking in the ogre’s neck. The beast coughed up blood and took a step back. Dredskif pulled Dekari out from underneath his horse while Draven rushed the Ogre. Dravens platemail leggings had saved him from a broken leg, but his armor was badly indented and misshapen.
With a throwing knife in each hand, Draven lept at the Ogre and burried both knives in the ogres temples, the two short knives penetrating the creatures skull. Draven pulled both free and dropped to the ground, the ogre falling dead.
Aiken slashed the arm off one goblin with his enchanted shortsword, ‘Retribution’, the magically light blade swung back taking off the goblins head. There were three remaining goblins. Kane brought down one with an arrow to the neck. Dekari advanced, Shortsword in one hand War-hammer in the other. The Del’goth prince crushed the skull of one of the goblins then severed both legs of the last, then brought down his war hammer, crushing the skull of the legless goblin.
“Well that cost us two horses,” Draven said.
“Looks like were gonna be walking,” Dekari said to Aiken.
Aiken nodded and began getting everything he would need off of the dead horse. The two brothers retrieved everything they needed from the 2 dead horses and continued on foot. A quick search of the slain goblins and ogre revealed a silver ring, and a couple handfulls of copper and iron pieces.
They continued along the trail, with no encounters for several hours. Kane stopped occasionaly to inspect the tracks he saw. There were animal tracks, mostly deer and bear along the path as well as goblin, hobgoblin and ogre tracks.
“I think its starting to get dark,” Draven said.
“Your right, its hard to tell since its almost dark under the canopy anyway,” Kane said. “Lets go a ways off the trail and camp for the night. ”
“Three watches,” Dekari said. “Aiken and I will take first, then Kane and Draven then Dredskif. The companions laid blankets down and started a fire. Dekari and Aiken had put all their rations on the remaining three horses. Kane set up a stewpot over the fire and began cooking dinner.
Dekari and Aiken had just ended their shift on watch and were waking Kane and Draven when several shrill screeches were heard. They awoke Dredskif and they immediately put out the fire.
“What was that?” Aiken asked Kane, who as a ranger knew more of wilderness survival and of forests than any of the others.
“Not sure,” Kane replied.
With the fire out and the light from the two white and two red moons unable to penetrate the canopy they sat in darkness, silently listening. The sounds of screeching were now joined by what was distinctly goblin speech.
“I’ll be right back. Going to get a look,” Kane said.
Kane snuck through the woods farther away from the path and came to a ledge. Lower in a small canyon with a creek running through it, Kane saw about 40 goblins fighting a 8 headed Hydra. Kane watched as the beast ate and clawed his way through them. Dozens of goblin arrows and spears protruded from the Hydra, but the beast still killed relentlessly. Kane snuck back to camp.
“I saw an eight headed hydra attacking a group of 40 goblins, probably closer to twenty-five or thirty now. Hydras arent intelligent creatures, remain quiet and keep the fire out and it should just move on,” Kane said.
“They sat in the dark and in silence and listened. Screams could be heard for a time before they died out and the night grew silent once more.
Unable to sleep the 5 stayed awake, and once there was enough light in the forest for them to see they started a fire and ate breakfast.
“I think I see now why everyone says to avoid this forest at all costs,” Aiken said. “I’m starting to think we should have brought more men. Crimson Elven rangers perhaps.”
“How much farther til the village on the map?” Dekari asked.
“Hard to tell, there’s a picture of a pyramid on the map, very close to the village and the catacombs. Id say once we see the pyramid we’ll know we’re close,” Draven said.
“I think some of the lessons about magic from mother are paying off,” Aiken said.
“What makes you say that?” Dekari asked.
“Theres something strange about that silver ring that we got from one of those goblins,” Aiken said. “I remember a spell that mother taught me. And there is a quality of magic in that ring.”
“Why don’t you try it on and see what happens.” Dredskif said.
“Im not putting it on until I know what it does, what if it turns me into a frog,” Aiken said. “I brought my spell book, though there isn’t much in it I’ll read up on a spell that will divine what the ring does.”
Aiken read the short spell and spoke the words of magic while holding the ring. The ring began to glow blue, then faded back to silver.
“Well, Im still not 100 percent sure what it does, but if it glows blue after the spell that means it isn’t going to hurt me if I put it on,” Aiken said.
“Well, go ahead and give it a shot,” Dredskif said.
Aiken slowly slid the ring on.
“Didn’t notice before but there’s an inscription,” Aiken said. “Looks to be written in elvish. Care to translate this Kane?”
“Sure,” Kane said.
After reading it Kane said, “It has the elvish word for regeneration. Looks like you have yourself quite the little trinket. If you get wounded that ring will heal you all by itself.”
“Neat, could come in handy,” Aiken said.
“Breakfast is ready,” Kane said. “Salted pork and hash browns.”
The companions ate breakfast, once finished Kane and Draven went down to the creek to get some water. They walked from their camp site, through the woods, away from the path and down the ravine. Bellow were the bodies of two dozen goblins and a dead hydra.
“From these tracks in the dirt and the circle of corpses it looks like the goblins surrounded the Hydra and all converged upon it.” Kane said.
“Why did they take all of the hydras scales, claws and teeth?” Draven asked.
“Hydra scales are very hard, as well as resistant to heat, fire and magic,” Kane said. “Armor, such as shields could be made from the scales. The claws and teeth im guessing must have been trophies. “
Draven and Kane each filled some pots with water and carried them back to their camp.
“See any signs of the hydra or goblins from last night?” Aiken asked.
“The Hydra was dead and stripped of scales, teeth and claws,” Draven said.
“Better they lose their goblins killing it than one or more of us dieing in an encounter with the beast,” Dekari said.
“Oh im sure that wasn’t the only Hydra in this forest,” Kane said.
Kane heated up some of the water over the fire, once warm enough he washed the dishes, dried them and put them away.
Kane put out the fire and said, “ All ready?”
“Looks that way,” Dekari said.
“Your armor doesn’t look as bad as it did after your horse fell on you Dekari,” Draven said.
“I banged out the dent with my war-hammer,” Dekari said.
The party walked back to the road and continued along the path, Draven, Kane and Dredskif having to walk their horses as the path was badly overgrown with roots, the horses having a hard time of it.
They walked for several hours through the Stillwater forest. Very little light being allowed through the growth at the top of the trees, for the party it felt like perpetual dusk.
“Its hard to keep track of time or direction without being able to see the sun,” Dekari said.
“Id guess its around noon,” Kane said, after finishing a mouth-full of hard bread.
“Draven, how do you know which direction to head?” Aiken asked.
“Theres just this one trail, we havent come to another. Ive just been following it,” Draven said.
“You sure were not lost?” Aiken asked.
“Not 100 percent sure,” Draven replied.
“Great. We’re lost,” Aiken said.
“Don’t be so sure, little brother, lets keep to the path and see where it takes us, has to lead somewhere,” Dekari said.
“Great, were navigating on the premise that the path has to lead somewhere, and we’ll know where once we get there?” Aiken said. “And you’re the little brother, I’m a good couple hours older than you.”
“I ment little as in height,” Dekari said.
“I think mom had three babies and before we came out you ate the other one,” Aiken said.
Kane and Dekari laughed, Dekari meeting the comment with a smile.
“Must be you were afraid to come out, if you hadn’t been chicken shit you could have been born first!” Aiken said
“Knock your shit Aiken,” Dekari said. “We have a lot of walking to do, you wise-ass bullshit isn’t shortening the trip any.”
“It is fairly odd that for twins you two are of such difference in size,” Draven said.
“Like I told ya, he ate my other brother!” Aiken said, “All’s he does is eat. Ate about 10 pounds of salted pork and hash browns this morning. He’s gonna eat us out of rations before we even get there.”
“Theres plenty of game to hunt in this forest, I’ve seen deer, turkey, and rabbits. I brought salt, bet you I kill us fresh meal before you do,” Dekari said.
“Ok, I’ll take your bet,” Aiken said.
“Looks like there’s a clearing up ahead,” Dredskif said. “I see sunlight up ahead and a break in the canopy.”
The 5 walked a short distance further before coming to a large clearing in the middle of Stillwater.
“Wow,” Aiken said. “Never expected this.”
Before the party was a large town with a pyramid in the center. There were hundreds of humans, wearing rags and chains. Off to the side there was a stone quarry where humans were being whipped by goblins, the people dragging large blocks of stone into the town where more slaves worked the stone. They could see clearly several Ogrith, the winged half Ogre half Demon beasts, some perched on the pyramid, some flying overhead. Blood Elves walked through the streets of the town by the dozen.
“It looks as if the Blood elves here have command over the goblins, ogres and ogrith,” Draven said.
“Cursed Bloodelves,” Kane said.
“The people of this town are shorter than even plainsmen, most look to be around 5 feet,” Dekari said.
“With Goblins, Ogres and Ogrith I bet some blood elves came here and took the village by force enslaving the local population.” Aiken said.
“These people need help. We need to find a way to liberate them,” Dekari said.
“We could come back with some of our forces,” Aiken said.
“The 5 of us cant take this town alone.” Dredskif said.
“What about our whistles?” Aiken asked. “We could use the whistle to call Marcus, then ask him to portal from here to the town and send some of our forces through.”
“Worth a shot,” Dekari said.
Aiken pulled the whistle out from underneath his shirt that hung from a leather cord and blew it.
They waited several minutes before a glowing orb appeared before them and enlarged to form a portal, Marcus Ironfist stepping out, the portal closing behind him.
“Hello Grandfather,” Dekari said
“Nice to see you Marcus,” Aiken said.
“Hi boys, anything I can help you with?” Marcus asked.
“Can you portal from here to Greendale and ask Firatri to gather all the Crimson elves and send them through the portal?” Dekari asked.
“Have something to do with the town down there?” Marcus asked.
“Yes. Blood Elves have subjugated the people of that town. I’m going to do anything I can to liberate them,” Dekari said.
“What brings you 5 out here?” Marcus asked.
“We followed a map, that we believe leads to ‘the eye of the dragon’, an orb of farseeing,” Aiken said.
“Bite a little more off than you chew?” Marcus asked.
“I think the 5 of us could sneak into town after dark and possibly retrieve the orb, but I cant leave this town knowing that innocent people are living as slaves while they wait for death from hunger, either their own or hunger from an ogre or ogrith,” Dekari said.
“Understandable, always the idealist, Dekari,” Marcus said.
Having seen the portal open, several ogrith that had been flying overhead dropped into dives for the 5 companions and Marcus. Dekari, Aiken and their three companions drew weapons and started backing away.
The tall, wide-shouldered, muscular Demi-God Marcus slowly, and calmly drew a golden broadsword from its sheath. The wind lifted Marcus’s red cloak with the direction of the breeze. He wore a breastplate with the emblem for the house of Ironfist, an I with a circle around it, steel leggings and shoulder-plates.
The first ogrith, closed from the air on Marcus, with seconds until the Ogrith crashed into the Demi-God, Marcus waited calmly, then brought his golden broadsword up in a lightning slash, cleaving the Ogrith cleanly in half from its right to its left side, blood spraying across Marcus, the two pieces landing on the ground.
The second and third Ogrith came at Marcus from 2 sides. Marcus raised a ringed hand and spoke a word of magic. A Ray of disintegration blasted out of a platinum ring on Marcus’s left hand, disintegrating a 8 inch wide hold in the Ogriths chest. The third closing fast, Marcus lept near 10 feet towards the beast, driving his broadswords into the beasts stomach, then pulling it violently out the beasts side.
The fighting at the edge of the forest had been seen by the blood elves in the town and all manor of goblin, Hobgoblin, Ogre and Ogrith were rushing their position.
Marcus spoke a word of magic and the portal opened.
“Kane, enter the portal, gather your kin and come back through,” Marcus said.
Kane nodded and stepped into the portal.
The seconds dragged on as hundreds of goblins, dozens of hobgoblins and several ogres and ogrith rushed their position.
Slowly at first then faster crimson elven rangers began coming through the portal. With less than a minute until the entire force of the town was upon them, the rangers numbered around a dozen, then around 50, then around 200 as the enemy closed.
“Form a Line,” Kane said to his crimson elves.
They did so, and as more came threw the portal they re-enforced the line. Dekari, Aiken, Draven and Dredskif stood behind Marcus with the lines of rangers behind them.
Two Ogres, 5 Hobgoblins, and an Ogrith were first to attack. Marcus, sheathed his sword, and took his strength-modified bow from his back.
“That’s one hell of a bow,” Dredskif said.
“Only a Demi-god can fire it. Its made for my strength and sends arrows with great force,” Marcus said.
In rapid succession, Marcus fired arrow after arrow. The first 2 killing the Ogrith flying towards them, the third arrow thudding into an ogres chest, sticking through its heart, dropping it in its tracks. The fourth arrow flew through the air a great distance, striking the next closest ogre in the forehead, its head exploding in a shower of flesh, bone, blood and brains.
Dekari stepped up alongside his grandfather, His broadsword ‘Justice’ in his right hand and his war-hammer in his left. Aiken stepped up along Marcus’s other side, wielding his gladius “Retribution” and his longsword.
The first wave of 5 hobgoblins rushed the three Ironfists. As they approached they heard Kane’s voice.
“Volley!” Kane yelled. The Crimson Elven Rangers, now numbering 500 loosed arrows over the ironfists, and over the 5 hobgoblins heads. The arrows came down on the rest of the charging enemy.
Dekari stepped forward, crushed the skull of one of the hobgoblins, then spun and cut another hobgoblin down with a slash from its left shoulder to its right hip. Marcus dodged a spear thrust from a hobgoblin, grabbed the shaft of the spear and yanked it from the hobgoblin. Marcus spun the spear around and burried it in the hobgoblins shoulder, then pulled the beast close. Aiken and Dekari watched as Marcus pulled the hobgoblin into him, dug his fingers into its throat and pulled out its larynx, blood spraying across the three Ironfists.
Aiken jumped forwards several feet, with 4 quick slashes that connected, Aiken killed the two remaining Hobgoblins.
The enemy’s morale was dropping fast at watching the three Ironfist’s cut them down with such speed and effectiveness, and seeing a force of Crimson elves, now numbering 1000 in lines behind them.
Dekari, Aiken and Marcus began advancing on the town with the rangers behind. The Crimson Elven Rangers, excellent swordsmen and archers, drew longswords.
“Sweep the Town! Kill them all!” Kane yelled to his crimson elves.
Before long the portal closed and all three thousand Crimson Elves overflowed the small town cutting down the enemy. At the site of Blood Elves in the town the Crimson Elves fought with renewed vigor, hunting them down with every opportunity.
“We have the town, should we give chase to the rest of the goblins?“ Kane asked Dekari.
“No. After were done here, we should track them. The map leads to a goblin village with catacombs. We’ll follow their tracks, let them lead us there.”
“Clever.” Kane said.
Dekari, Aiken, Marcus and Kane walked together towards the pyramid, Dredskif and Draven had rode off to fight. On their way there, three short men approached Dekari.
“Thank you for liberating our town,” One of the men said.
“Your welcome,” Dekari said.
“Is it true?” the short man asked.
“Is what true?” Dekari replied.
“That the three of you are Dekari and Aiken Ironfist and your grandfather Marcus Ironfist,” The man said.
“Yes,” Dekari said.
“We overheard a human and a minotaur talking about ‘The Eye of the Dragon’,” The man said. “I am Norvin, Shaman of this village, what do you know of the Eye?”
“That its an orb that allows the user to see all,” Dekari said.
“As shaman I have owned the orb for 30 years, before that its been used by a dozen shamen before me. Is that why you are here? To Take the Eye from us?” Norvin said.
“We were under the impression that goblins had it,” Dekari said
“We hid it from them, many of us died, unwilling to tell them its location,” Norvin said. “What is your interest in it.”
“The world is at war. You live in Kulan as do I. I protect a large territory around Greendale, this forest is in my territory. I came for the orb to have an advanced warning of invasion.”
“I know of you. Once a month we sent a warrior to Hillshire to purchase supplies. We chose to live in seclusion, away from the worries of the world,” Norvin said. “I know of the war and I know of you. Ive watched Hillshire with the orb, I saw it fall and I saw you come and kill the enemy there. Ive watched Greendale, and we have been sending men there instead of Hillshire for supplies. We use the orb to protect our town and learn of the outside world. If you leave us a garrison to protect our town I will give you the orb as a way to thank you for liberating our village as well as payment for you leaving a garrison here.”
“Agreed. I will leave 100 crimson elves. They are highly trained rangers, trained to fight and live in the woods.” Dekari said.
Norvin reached into his tattered grey robes and retreaved the orb from an inner pocket.
Norvin unwrapped the orb and handed the black orb to Dekari.
“Say what you wish to see and it will show you,” Norvin said.
“I wish to see my mother,” Dekari said.
The black orb slowly turned to dark then light grey then it showed Lucila at a wooden table inside a cabin.
“Thank Draxis that she’s fine,” Aiken said.
The orb showed 4 elderly people, two women two men. It also showed several middle-aged people with their children. They sat at the table eating.
“That must be her side of the family,” Dekari said.
“It is,” Marcus said. “Shes in bear clan, with her brothers and sisters, and some of her extended family.”
“It’s a relief to be able to see her again and know shes ok,” Dekari said.
“Why havent you two seen your mother?” Norvin asked.
“Our father was killed and she fled north to Del’Goth.” Aiken said.
“Bruce?” Norvin asked.
“Yes, how did you know.” Dekari asked.
“Its hard to be unknown when you live as long as Bruce died,” Norvin said. “Once my father went to Greendale and met Bruce Ironfist. The two talked. Bruce was interested in the pyramid and came here, and stayed for a few days.”
“I have matters to attend to,” Marcus said. “You two want a portal back to Greendale? If you walk these three thousand men through the forest your bound to lose many of them from the beasts that live therein.”
“Yes, please,” Dekari said.
Dekari, Aiken, Dredskif, Draven, Kane and the three thousand crimson rangers, minus 100, walked through the portal to arrive in the middle of Greendale.
