Havana, Cuba. May 2002.
This photo was taken in Plaza de la Revolucion in Havana at the May Day celebrations, in which over one million people came out to see Fidel Castro address the nation. He gave one of his signature three-hour speeches, and I had an absolute field day taking pictures of the many patriotic Cubans. I don't quite know what happened in the scanning-in of this photo, but it is not quite this dark in actuality.
