Sunday 6th March 2009 - Haweswater
6 walkers (Christine and Steve Rostron), Mark Oakley, Ian Cochrane, Ian Funnell and Paul O'Donaghue) set off from Mardale car park at the southern most point of Haweswater Reservoir.
The weather was sleet/hail showers and was rather cold. It felt like the type of weather to be spent in the warm in front of the TV let alone up on the high tops above Haweswater!
We set off and soon missed the path to High Street (810m). After walking for some time through the valley floor, it was decided that we would all climb up a very steep slope. The slope was too steep and slippery for Christine Rostron that she and Steve decided to abandon the walk and leave the others to carry on. The others say it was all white on the top and very slippery. There are no photos.
However Christine & Steve Rostron have been back to Haweswater (in much better weather) three times and here are their photos.
