This was the car that got me started.  It was my best friend Robert Phelps 1968 Chevy nova four door custom.  It was straight, and almost rustfree.  It had a 350 four bolt main swapped in place of the 327 by past owner, and the original powerglide.  His parents had owned it and parked it for a while since it needed repaires to the brakes.  Rob approched the age of 16 and his parents told him if he could get it safe to drive, it was his.  So we worked on the brakes with the help of his dad and soon he had his first car and the first car I ever worked on.  After a couple years driving it he was on his way home after dropping me off at home and his tie rod broke while going 40mph!  That made a big dent in the fender and frame.  After that it just sat in his garage.  That car sparked my interest in Muscle Cars and Novas.
