The heads are the 702 castings that came on 66/67 396 & 427 Big Blocks. I needed a closed chamber head to bump up my poor 8.0 Compression Ratio, and the 97cc combustion chambers should but me at 9.2-9.5, I hope! These heads had been ported, and the larger 2.19/1.88 valves installed. I also got an Edelbrock Performer 2-O poslished intake that will need to be cleaned up a little to make it shine again. The intake was also tapped to have a copper tube run from front to back to help cool the big block, but I may just plug those. I also got a Lutani Cam to give the 454 that lumpy idle! I really think the new parts will wake up the sleeping Big Block! |
