In August of 1998, we took a trip from home in Washington state back to Colorado where I grew up.  The old yellow house is still really ugly but the rest of it looks pretty good :) Also shown are the views to the south and west, all photos taken at sundown.  The view to the south shows the mesas and the mountain to the west is the Sleeping Ute. We think you'll agree it's beautiful there!

Returning from Colorado, our car developed serious problems as we were attempting to travel through Salt Lake City.  Road construction there was terrible, yet we could find no rooms at all in which to lodge while getting the car repaired.  We had not thought we had time to stop and visit my cousin in Park City, UT, but he and his lovely wife Julie graciously invited us to invade their home.  We had a wonderful visit with them while waiting for work on the car.  This turned out to be the most restful part of our trip, as we had worked quite a bit in Colorado

Our son was out exploring the forest there when he came face to face with this moose!  He assured us the moose was real--not one of his very imaginitive stories and Jay was able to snap this picture.  Jordan got 2-3 frames on his camcorder before he chickened out because the moose was walking leisurely toward him.  Of course, Jordan has a slightly different version of the events, which is not to be taken seriously!  At any rate, this was the only time I have ever seen a live moose and it's an impressive animal indeed.
