The
Fellowship of the Ring
After I saw the movie, my brother said to me, "I wish that Jackson had just shown the scene of Sam holding his head after the "death" of Gandalf.  It seemed forced after he showed each character's anguish."  My response: "One of the most important relationships in the Lord of the Rings is the bond between Frodo and Gandalf.  Jackson showed all the characters in order to stress the part in which Aragon says, "Where is Frodo?"  This is followed by a long shot and slow zoom in of the grief-stricken Frodo."  Flashing the sadness of each of the characters stresses the sadness of Frodo.  Peter Jackson deserves Best Director for that scene alone.

the trees of Moria framing the sign for
Gandalf on his right shoulder.

ARAGORN
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
And crownless again shall be King.
A round of applause for the casting crew of Lord of the Rings...From the Ians to Elijah, I am very fond of your choices.  Oh, and a standing cheer for Haldir of Lothlorien
for the best delivered line in the movie?
"A Dwarf breathes so loud we could have shot him in the dark."
