The Debt

Like the cold's seeping in, and the heat's leaking out,
and the pain that I feel, was the love that I felt.
Like the wind on my face, and your hand on my back,
given up life, for the feeling I lack.
But when did I covet that which I could not get,
and pay with my soul this erroneous debt.
I took you for granted, it's marked on my soul.
Lost in this world, was my heart...now a hole.
As my spirit was spinning, before I was born,
my life was discussed, I must've been torn.
I took the incentive to love in this life,
and knew even then it would cut like a knife.

Reality

Do my eyes deceive me?
Are they the only ones,
That gave me sight so I may see,
this place that's come undone.
Can my ears not hear,
the lies they all will speak.
I feel it now, a single tear,
that trickles down my cheek.
When will I learn that things aren't fair,
and life's not what it seems.
Liars are plenty, and good people rare.
No wonder I sleep to dream.

Communication

Once in a while it starts as a sound,
then growing complex the tighter it's wound.
But when it becomes the greatest of things,
is a word spoken out by a human being.
It can turn into love, it can turn into hate.
It can talk of a plan, or speak to your fate.
Mindless or thoughtful, they each have their way,
of controlling the action in us everyday.
So watch what you say, beware of your tone,
or find yourself living and being alone.

Dreams

I had a dream, that you could see me,
as I sat and dreamt of you.
And my thoughts they wandered freely,
as it seems my thoughts will do.
I saw my fate, I saw your face,
in this timeless, magic dream,
float above, just out of reach
almost teasing, it would seem.
Like a word lost on my tongue,
or a dream you couldn't touch,
I awoke and speak the word
then, your dream it meant so much.
Was it fate that brought us here?
To this plane where souls can hide?
In the dreams of someone stronger
floating on this oceans tide.
