| All electromagnetic energy can be charcterised as waves with a spicific wave lenghts and frequinces distrubuted overa contunus range known as the electromagnetic spectrum. microwaves reflect off most metals but they produce inductive resonances in the atoms of many other substances. it was the descrovery of there reactoin to the metals that to the inventoin of the radar, it was there abillty to produce resoant coupling that led to the inventoin of the microwave oven. |
