Nuclear Engines

Nuclear engines were once common amongst civilizations new to space. They were easy and cheap ways to produce ships and provide them with enough energy.

The environmental hazards and the dangers involved with nuclear reactors caused such engines to be banned. The most recent species to use such engines were the Triadics, and certain Triadic faction minorities had used one-man fightersequippoed with nuclear reactors as piloted bombs, one ship could easily disable a destroyer.
