Allāh has sent down the best statement

Allāh has sent down the best statement, a Book (this Qur'ān), its parts resembling each other in goodness and truth, oft-repeated. The skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it (when they recite it or hear it). Then their skin and their heart soften to the remembrance of Allāh. That is the guidance of Allāh. He Guides therewith whom He pleases and whomever Allāh sends astray, for him there is no guide.

Neither did you [O Muhammad (pbuh)] read any book before it (this Qur'ān), nor did you write any book (whatsoever) with your right hand. In that case, indeed, the followers of falsehood might have doubted.

Or do they say: "He [Muhammad (pbuh)] has forged it?" Say: "Bring then a Sūrah (chapter) like unto it, and call upon whomsoever you can, besides Allāh, if you are truthful!"

Do they not then consider the Qur'ān carefully? Had it been from other than Allāh, they would surely have found therein much contradictions.

And truly, this (the Qur'ān) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

Which the trustworthy Rūh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down.

Upon your heart [O Muhammad (pbuh)] that you may be (one) of the warners.

In the plain Arabic language.

And verily, it [the Qur'ān, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)] is (announced) in the Scriptures [the Taurāt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people.

Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars [like 'Abdullāh bin Salām (x-jew) who embraced Islām] of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?

And this Qur'ān is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allāh (Lord of the heavens and the earth), but it is a confirmation of (the revelation) which was before it [the Taurāt (Torah), and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.], and a full explanation of the Book ( laws and orders, etc, decreed for mankind) - wherein there is no doubt from the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns, and all that exists).

And thus We have sent down the Book (this Qur'an) to you [O Muhammad (pbuh)], and those whom We gave the Scripture [the Taurāt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) aforetime] believe therein as also do some of these [who are present with you now like Abdullāh bin Salām (x-jew)] and none but the disbelievers reject Our Ayāt [(proofs, signs, verses, lessons, etc., and deny Our Oneness of Lordship and Our Oneness of worship and Our Oneness of Our Names and Qualities: i.e. Islāmic Monotheism)].

Nay, but they, the clear Ayāt [the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) written like verses in the Taurāt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] are preserved in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge (from the people of the Scriptures). And none but the Zālimūn (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) deny Our Ayāt (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).

And indeed We have fully explained to mankind, in this Qur'ān, every kind of similitude, but most mankind refuse (the truth and accept nothing) but disbelief.

Say [O Muhammad (pbuh)]:"I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allāh) (I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner."

Say: "Tell me! If this (Qur'ān) is from Allāh, and you deny it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel [Abdullāh bin Salām (x-jew)] testifies that this Qur'ān is from Allāh [like the Taurāt (Torah)], so he believed (embraced Islām) while you are too proud (to believe)." Verily! Allāh guides not the people who are Zālimūn (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doing).

This is of the news of the unseen which We reveal unto you [O Muhammad (pbuh)], neither you nor your people knew them before this. So be patient. Surely, the (good) end is for the Muttaqūn (pious).
