This poem was written for my very good friend Evelyn, better known as GeorgiaRattler online. She gave without taking and made all our lives a little brighter at Wellness-Chronic in Talk City. Thank you Georgia not for just being my friend, but most of all........ just being you.
You Were My Friend
You were my friend, you gave to me things I've never known But most of all you gave to me a friend to call my own Someone I could talk too when my world was not alright a shoulder I could lean on on my deepest, darkest night Never once did you complain or say you didn't care And every time I needed you you were always there Yes, you were my friend and you gave to me The greatest love I've ever known for all the world to see But now you must go on alone without me by your side Close your eyes to all the pain and all the tears we cried At least until that eventful day when I hold you once again and shower you with all my love my dear and closest friend
