My Darling Mother

My darling mother, my dearest friend,I am without you once again.

And though we may be far apart, you're always here within my heart.

You taught me things when I was young, like how to stand and never run.

And in a "World" that lacked compassion, you taught me how to think with ration.

You taught me with a fair, firm hand, from you I learned to be a man.

Now as I lay you down to rest, a few more things I must confess.

My darling mother, there will always be, a place for you inside of me.

A place where an angel dared to go, a place where a child still learns to grow.
