| If I Only Had A Second | ||||
| When I close my eyes I see you, as if it were today. Right outside a playing, so cheerful, bright and gay. I left you for one second, to answer the telephone. But when I came to get you, I stood there alone. I never recognized the scream, that pierced the summer air. I only hear it in my dreams, each night it takes me there. I have no way of knowing, if you are still alright. Or if you need your mommy, on your deepest, darkest nights. I only know I miss you, so deep within my heart. And it only took a second, for my world to fall apart. My Darling, if you should read this, I hope you someday see. That you were more than just my son, you were all of me. And if I only had one second, I'd turned the hands of time. Back before that awful day, back when you were mine. by Thomas Harvey |
