Main Characters
Rembrandt Lee Brown (Cleavant Derricks) used to be an R&B singer known as the Cryin Man.  Despite having had great success in the 70s and (to a lesser extent) the 80s, his career was in serious trouble by the early 90s.  One fateful September day in 1994, Rembrandt was heading to Candlestick Park to sing the national anthem at a baseball game in hopes of restarting his faltering career.  But on his way there, he was accidentally sucked into a vortex created by physics student Quinn Mallory and was taken on the adventure of a lifetime.  Rembrandt has been sliding ever since and has endured such hardships as being captured and tortured by the KroMagg Dynasty and losing several close friends.  In spite of everything, he has managed to carry on, for he has his faith and his friends to guide him.
Professor Maximillian Phineas* Arturo (John Rhys-Davies) was Regents Professor of Cosmology and Ontology at the University of California Berkeley (UC Berkeley; U-Cal) until the day in 1994 when he was invited to the home of Quinn Mallory to view a science experiment that the boy was conducting.  Little did Arturo know that he was about to go sliding.  Unlike Rembrandt (see above), Arturo has not been with the group for the entire length of its journey.  In early 1996, he was inadvertently left behind on a parallel world when one of his doubles began impersonating him in order to go sliding.  The double left with the others while the real Arturo was stranded.  A chance encounter with Logan St. Claire a year later (see below) gave the Professor a chance to slide again, this time in search of his friends.
Logan Elizabeth* St. Claire (Zoe McLellan) is a female version of Quinn Mallory from a world where Arturo is the man who invented sliding.  Both Logan and that Arturo worked at a company called Prototronics.  Logan hoped to use sliding to pillage natural resources from alternate worlds, but Arturo protested and she killed him.  Then, the Sliders arrived.  They uncovered her crime and sabotaged her timer so that she couldnt carry out her evil plan.  For months, Logan tracked the Sliders through the multiverse, hoping to exact her revenge.  Eventually, however, she lost their trail.  Shortly thereafter, Logan encountered our stranded Arturo (see above) and allowed him to go sliding with her.  Arturos positive influence steered Logan away from malevolence and she has now become a valuable member of the team.
Colin Patrick* Mallory (Charlie OConnell) is the brother of an alternate Quinn Mallory.  Colin joined the Sliders in late 1997 to locate the homeworld of his true birth parents, who had relocated him to an alternate world when he was still an infant in order to protect him from a war raging in his home dimension.  Colin was lost to the Sliders after less than a year when he became unstuck from reality as a result of a mad scientists terrible experiments.  He didnt die; he was just lost, randomly quantum leaping from parallel world to parallel world.  Eventually, Colin encountered a man who was in a similar predicament but who could direct his leaping.  From this man, Colin learned how to control his transdimensional shifts and shortly thereafter was able to help free Wade from KroMagg Outpost 88.
Wade Kathleen Wells (Sabrina Lloyd) is another of the original four sliders.  Before becoming a Slider, Wade was a student who majored in extemporaneous prose at North Shore Junior College and worked with Quinn Mallory at the Doppler Computers Superstore.  A poet, writer, romantic, and computer expert, Wade was an invaluable and beloved member of the Sliders until the KroMagg Dynasty captured her at the end of the groups third year together.  A year and a half later, Wade was finally able to contact the Sliders again, but in order to save Colins home world from a KroMagg invasion, she sacrificed her chance to rejoin the group.  It wasnt until nearly a year later that Wade was rescued by Colin (see above).  After leaping with him for several months, Wade was finally reunited with the Sliders.
