The Sliders return to the world from the episode "State of the ART." Since the Sliders' last visit, a civil war has broken out between the android inhabitants. The Pauls are at war with Deric and his followers.
When the Sliders arrive, Rembrandt and the Professor clash over which faction is in the right. Rembrandt sides with Deric and his followers, while the Professor sides with the Pauls and their followers. Wade, Logan, and Colin are caught in between.
In the course of this episode, we learn a little more about the history of this world, including the fact that it split from our reality when the Atlantean civilization was never destroyed by a volcanic eruption and was thus allowed to flourish until the time when the androids took over.
In the end, a truce is worked out between the Derics and the Pauls. Deric thanks the Sliders for their help by implanting a quantum-molecular stabilization device into Wade and Colin, allowing them to no longer be �unstuck� in reality.
