I have written this poem in memory of Kita...

"Kita, My Little Rottie"

Ad in the paper, rottie pups for sale
I vision a puppy that had no tail
I asked and I learn what a rottie was like
just perfect for me, for she's just right

Picked up the phone, gave them a call
8 little puppies, with 5 gone in all
I got in my car and went to their place
Picked out my beauty, her sweet little face

She ran and she played with all the rest
then they stopped by to meet the new guest
Up in my arms, sat all three
two back playing, but she didn't flee

She licked my face, and she licked my ear
In her puppy way, I knew she would care
So full of life, her love she poured
Take me home, let me play on your floor

Out came my purse, I gave him the pay
Picked up my puppy, and got on my way
Nikita I called her, it was fitting you see
She stole my heart, she belongs to me

For six short years, my life was complete
I was happy now, and I could sleep
I knew my girl was by my side
I no longer had to hide.

Then one day, that dreadful night came
Stole my girl and left me in pain
The gate to her pen, was not secure
She left that night, for a walk up the shore

She was hit by a truck, upon the ridge
Here she crossed the Rainbow Bridge
My heart was broken, it was split in two
Oh kita my girl, must I go on without you

My tears started flowing, they could not stop
Kuddles and Sparky, came back from the trot
Where is my girl, how can this be
Six short years, is not enough for me

The man in the big truck, said he would come
To put stone on her yard, but it never got done
The pain I felt, when I found her that night
Pierced my heart, like a razor sharp knife

Where is my Kita, my little Rottie
Your wonderful memories, are left here for me
I cherish them always, deep in my heart
That's where they'll stay,  we'll never part

Kita's first day home
Kita meeting my cats Bianca, Queeny, and
Snuggles who is looking to play with her.
Here we are at one of our favourite ponds,
the closest one, so we spend lots of time here.
Same pond, Kuddles & Sparky loves to swim,
but Kita took awhile - she went through the ice when she was a pup and of course I went to my waste in water to get her out - yep, it was cold, but who cared
The day my friend Max took me to see Point Rosey
Of course, I went nowhere without Kita
She loved riding on the bike - it was quite the trip
Kita with her puppy, yep I let her have a couple litters,
and only regret that I didn't keep a puppy back.
In Loving Memory of
Nikita aka Kita
Nov 19, 1997 - Nov 2, 2003

I was the happy and proud owner of this beautiful girl for 6 short years,
I loved her like she was my child and I did my best to keep her safe.
On November 2nd, 2003 my heart was broken.
Due to waiting for a load of stone, the gate to her pen was not secure,
she got out along with Kuddles and Sparky and trotted up the shore.
She was killed instantly when hit by a truck 1/2 way up the ridge, and
I was horrified when I found her darling body so badly broken.
Kita thought me so much about life and love and
I'm thankful that we at least shared 6 short happy years together.
The wonderful memories of this precious girl will be cherished always and forever.
The picture above is the last pic I took of her, more pics below.
Your always in my heart
Until we meet again
My trusted friend...I miss you dearly

Love always & forever,
Mom, Kuddles, Sparky, and all your feline friends
Kita sporting the little coat I made her soon after she arrived.
Kita was such a beautiful girl, and I was so proud of her, and easy to see why when you look at this pic.
It took a long time before I got her to swim, but
she had no problem wading in the puddles on our trail.
Kuddles love to swim, Sparky didn't mind too much, but thats as far as Kita would go, until I went in - but no pic lol.
Here's the 3 of them in their yard, and don't think Kita didn't love that ball.
They had a huge 20' x 30' yard.
She was asleep until I called her name, and indeed she was raring to go again.
I guess I better get her settled down for the night, but as you can see she was always ready to go, but she slept like a baby beside me, and she was never more that a few feet away.  It would be impossible not to miss her, yes even after all this time.
