III. Course Objectives
Seventh-grade students use oral language, written
language, and media and technology for expressive,
informational argumentative, critical, and literary
purposes. Students also explore the structure of language
and study grammatical rules in order to speak and
write effectively. While emphasis in seventh grade is
placed on argument, students also:
1. Express individual perspectives in response
to personal, social, cultural and historical issures.
2. Interpret and synthesize information
3. Critically analyze print and non-print
communication
4. Use effective sentence construction and
edit for improvements in sentence formation, usage, mechanics
and spelling.
5. Interpret and evaluate a side range of
literature.
III. Student Responsibilities:
1. Follow directions given by all staff
members
2. Report to class promptly.
3. Have all needed supplies.
4. Follow directions
5. Obtain permission to talk and or get out
seat
6. Keep hands, feet and objects to self
7. Do not chew, eat, drink or groom self in
class without permission
8. Show respect for others by not teasing,
gesturing or harassing
IV. Grading Policy
93-100 = A
86-92 = B
78-85 = C
70-77 = D
70&below F
Unless otherwise specified, students will have a chance to make up
any test with a grade of 85 or below..
