It's almost the new year, 2004, and this is the last article I will write in the year 2003. Thinking back on everything that has happened this year, I recall all of the well known and famouse people that have passed away. Bob Hope is the first that comes to mind. He said he wanted to live a century, and he made it with two months extra. Thanks for the memory's Bob. Johnny Cash sang the ring of fire, and when my family and I went to the mountains, we all sang the ring of fire with our nephew Bobby Madewell, as we drove down from Pinecrest Lake. We were all a family back then. I grew up with Gregory Peck, Mr Rogers, Art Carney from the Honeymooners, John Ritter from three's company, Buddy Ebsen, the Uncle of the Beverly Hillbilly's, and Charles Bronson, one of my most favorite actors.
Other favorites that have passed away this year are, Katherine Hephburn, David Brinkly the news broadcaster, Buddy Hacket the comedian, and musical artists such as, Waylon Jennings, Maurice Gibb, Robert Palmer addicted to love, and other famouse people such as, Strom Thurman the political activist for segregation, Nell Carter the actress who said she didn't want to leave any of her family before her time. Gregory Hines the famouse black dancer, Willy Shoemaker the famouse american jocky that won so many races. The last but not least are, Donald Oconner, Athea Gibson, Herb Brooks, Celia Cruz, George Plimpton, Hume Cronan, David Bloom, Bobby Hatfield, and any others that I have missed.
Life is so short and there is so very little time. Even a legend will leave this world with only Pictures and memories of how it once was when they were here with us. Don't you think it's time you've made a decision in your life. Who will you serve? A world that doesn't last very long? Or an eternal God that will give you life here after? Please consider this very carefully. It will be the biggest decision you have ever made in your whole entire life. You still have time to choose Jesus as your personal savior, and live forever in heaven with your creator. James M. Flaherty
