Leaders

Leaders are Christian men and women from various interdenominational backgrounds:-

The CAMP LEADER is a senior leader with Camp/Youth experience, in overall charge of the camp and has a great deal of freedom in running the camp, depending upon the leadership team and the needs of the children.
The Camp Leader is responsible for the safety and discipline of all members of the camp and for determining the types and timings of camp activities.

The ASSISTANT CAMP LEADER is a senior leader with camp/youth experience who is usually responsible for timetabling of the day to day programme, assisting and deputising for the camp leader and may have responsibility for camp finances.

For mixed camps there will be a male and female SENIOR LEADER for the boys and girls respectively who will be responsible for deputising for the camp leader as appropriate.

A senior leader is reponsible for the TEACHING programme, usually assisted by various MUSICIANS.  Leaders are encouraged to gain First Aid knowledge and experience.  An appropriately qualified and experienced Leader (often from Medical/Nursing background) is responsible for FIRST AID, medication and other medical matters relating to all campers and liasing as necessary with local doctors and hospitals.

The COOK is a vital member of the team whose responsibility goes beyond planning, preparing and cooking meals to organising packed lunches, maintaining supplies of food  and ensuring a high standard of hygiene within the kitchen.

The usual method of transportation is minibus.  All DRIVERS are experienced drivers and fully covered by camp insurance.  Drivers are responsible for the safety and maintenance of their vehicles.

JUNIOR LEADERS are young men and women, usually 16 - 20, who may have had some camp experience.  They will have various areas of responsiblity both to enable each to grow in leadership and spirituality and to contribute to the enjoyment and safety of the children.

All Leaders are expected to take a full and active role within the camp
