Bibekanand Mallick
is currently working in the hot areas of bioinformatics, i.e genomics and Proteomics. Currently he is working to develop tRNA identification software for archaeal genome. He is also doing sequence analysis of archaeal tRNAs.
miRNomics and tRNOmics is his major interest.
He is also working in the area of biophysics, applying Shannon Entropic Segmentation algorithm to relate the entropy within a biological DNA sequence to the nature of coding and non-coding regions within a genomic/plasmid DNA sequence. He is also trying to find out biological relevance of entropy or randomness within a DNA/RNAsequence.
