The Artists’ Statement    Roundtable-Manifesto   List of members   INFO    Open Letter to Kofi Annan

The idea of independent artists’ society is already supported by many artists from all over the world, and can be realized by creation of ISA centres in different countries. We believe that the idea will be understood and supported by all who are partial to the destiny of Art and artists. It is an essential and dangerous moment that balances between «physical» and «spiritual» is disturbed in the contemporary society. Only arts are able now to restore a wholeness and fullness of human life.

Art is unable to be a server or material. It is also not peculiar to person to be a means.

Person is always the purpose.

Sergej Jakovlev, president of ISA

You have such a wonderful enthusiasm which SHOULD be shared with artists all over the world.  Making a community for artists is genius.  A sense of community is one of the strongest ideas that should be promoted in order to maintain ties with artists world-wide.

You have a wonderful passion for our idea of the purpose of art.  This is a very strong project.  I do know that there are so many artists who empathize with your energy.  This is the perfect project to disclose an international art fairs and to an avid art community.

Renu J. Grover, World Art Media

We are very happy to hear that you are carrying on the ideals of the Florence Biennale in your new organization. We would be happy to collaborate with your organization in the future and we with you the best of luck.

Best wishes,

Pasquale Celona, president of Florence Biennales

…It was at the Biennale in Florence that I first realized how much we all are alike in our struggle to create our work and share it with the public.  It was there, through our conversations, which led into lengthy debates, that I recognized myself in the faces from Canada, Belgium, Peru, China...

It proved to me that we are much more alike than different. No matter what language we speak, our art speaks to all in a universal language…

…Congratulations for your commitment, and I wish you all success in this grand and worthwhile endeavour to promote awareness of the importance of Art in the world…

What a wonderful idea!

It is the time for art, and the appreciation of all things beautiful, in this stressful world of ours.

 Shirley Erskine

…I do agree with your Artists' Statement. It was that no matter what part of the world you are from. People all want the same ideals, and Art offers a wonderful way to express your views and make your mark in this world. Many things come and go but Art lives on forever…

…We do need to bridge the gap between nations; art and its beauty can fill that void. The opportunity to share ideas and enjoy each others work is priceless. We are so lucky to have this internet facility which enables us to share ideas, suggestions and most important to get to know other artists around the world…

what i do sense right now for my own being an artist - the whole " world " is out of order.....and we as the artists, especially the ones, who are really sensitive and honest and truthfully to our ownself cause this is connected to our own personality and the process how we do see our " destiny " being an artist - the global situation being an artist is " exhausting " right now…the world is out of order.........that’s the thing i know........

i do believe, we do have to find our own centre again ......and its good  to find a  communication through the internet to the artists worldwide , who are open to be connected together and share some thoughts and ideas - i do believe as well, if artists are coming together, make something or share something through their art , they bring something up - with our own individual art through an exhibition / single or in groups together, there we presentate our voices / paints and and and  .......its only depend, how open the public and audience is to receive our messages.........and this is in fact about the global situation right now our chance to go for it.........

i wish you the best....for all the things your are going to do.........

I am the soul of those who despair,

Unfortunate orphans,

their eyes deep in sorrow.

their mouths are hungry

as my should is dry.

They have nothing to hope for,

How could I!

What can be done

for the misery of human life?

I feel ashamed of all I was given

When so many lives cannot be called human!

The knowledge of it has dried my soul...

There is no water to drink,

not enough for tears!

When children are dying,

the world can lose Hope

So erase wars for a peace of life!

Art has a terrific voice!  Who are the first ones to be censored?  Artists!  Because they do have influence.  Because it is a non verbal voice that speaks to that part of us where there are no words. And it would be nice to be rewarded with a chance for a decent living as a result of so much influence in the eyes of the world.....but that does not stop us, does it?  Somehow, because we have to, we continue doing it.  And can have peace in our hearts for an honest life.

…Art in any form is necessity to the humanity. I would like to be an active member of the society. I am sure I able to provoke the fellow artists to meet the goals at this part of world. The position of Art is relatively same in the whole world. I believe I will be able to gather likeminded artists from different fields for the betterment of ART. Once set, I assure a successful centre of ISA, here in India

…I feel very deeply about what this international organization of artists are trying to do and achieve.  It is so true, inspired spiritual artwork rarely sells to the general public.  It is so deep within my nature.  I understand, care about, love to create, and discuss spiritual artwork.  That is why I am going to continue to express the spiritual world in paintings.  It will be refreshing to discuss my work with others that choose to be spiritual beings.  Yes, the impact artists have on all of humanity is enormous and I have insight coming through that might help others…

…If we do not want to be lost to the art history of our time, we had better do something about it.  And, yes, it is up to us to do it. No one will create our history but us.  We can let it be taken away from us by inaction.  But it doesn't have to be that way. I would like to see us develop into an organized force in the International art community…

Susan Landise

…An item of interest that was sent to me was mention of an article in the Atlanta Sunday Journal about three months ago by Rausenberg about how the critics are defining the art world and ruining it.

We need to define ourselves and not let the critics define our times and what is art. Some critics seem to have personal interest in many that they promote. We need to define our times with who is and what is in art…

…I am Henry Mujunga, an Ugandan artist who is interested in international art networks. I represent the Uganda Artists association, which is a body uniting Ugandan visual artists. We believe in art as a major shaper of society, art is an indispensable aspect of the human condition. As such, we are working closely with our local communities to address societal concerns such as Poverty, the HIV aids endemic and the custody of culture.

We would like to join your society because we believe that it is through unity of world artists that we can help each other make this world more pleasant place for us all…

Henry Mujunga

…I have read your statement and I do agree entirely with you. In fact I am actively involved in promoting local artists in Brighton and we publish twice a year a publication "Brighton Arts Review." My professionally activities extend to Southeast Asia dealing with artists in Bali, Jakarta and Singapore (my mother is Balinese). This coming July I will be travelling in Bali and Bandung/West Java to give free workshops for artists and arts organisations to raise awareness and commitment to the arts. As in Bali, women artists are still undermined, they do not play an equal role in the art arena. As part of my job, I am continuously studying and translating the arts policy in the UK and EU. Please do let me know if I can be useful for ISA. In the meantime, please do subscribe me into your organisation and keep me up to date with your current activities and future objectives…

Dear all at ISA,

I am very interested in joining with you. I agree with what you have to say about the art world as it stands today. A lot of it is totally beyond the control of the artist if they want to make a living ( gallery dictation in what is considered  good enough etc) I find that it is also due to the fact that art galleries, art dealers, art critics and art writers have joined with artists and made the whole art world into a kind of elitist place to be only allowing for folk such as themselves to be a part of.

Art for arts sake is what I say! Yes, you can have your ideas in what you produce but it doesn't have to only be that! Whatever happened to art that moves a person.

Rachel Grove

…I love your Art idea, as this is something I have tried to reach for the last three years.

So, if I can be of any support let me know. Just share what you have in mind and I will try to give you my best. I am in touch with artists in Africa, Asia, US and Europe as well so if you want to use ArtVoila to say something to artists or any gallery I am in touch with feel free to ask me. If you see any useful way to use ArtVoila feel free to propose your idea…

I would like to become a member of your Society. I read your Artist Statement and as an independent artist who exiled himself from the gallery 'hamster wheel' , I congratulate this concept. Much of today's art exists within a commercial context, void of spirit and manipulated by the museum/gallery/critic axis that turned the art world in to a pop-style celebrity culture, with no relationship to the common man or common good. Art devoid of soul is an empty vessel.
