DARBY
MEMORIES
Photos of the way we were
|
Being a Southern Girl, Darby liked her tea sweetened |
Highest Scoring Irish Setter in Obedience Trial (with competition I might add) and she finished her CD at the age of 11 months. Wish I could find the photo of her standing next to the trophy and looking puzzled at what all the fuss was about that day. |
|
Our first field trial resulted in a 3rd place trophy , two quail and a bag of dog food (Darby wasn't fond of that brand). I believe this was Darby's way of getting me hooked on letting her hunt - she wasn't trained and I had never even seen a field trial. I entered her in the trial on a dare. She gets all the credit for this little suprise. (12 starters in her class that day) |
Mom got some training and we attempted hunting tests. |
|
When her Irish Eyes were smiling, she KNEW she had done a good job! Sure hope the twinkle of joy shows up on the internet in this photo. |
Kisses for Daddy for finishing the JH with Darby when mom got sick. Darby also finished her VC that day at the ISCA Centenial. |

In the ring with mom at the National. Can you believe my human STILL insists on wearing that skirt? |
For those who don't believe it -- here we are when Darby PLACED at the National with shaved ears. She hated to stack, so naturally looked as ugly as she could for the photo with the judge. (Stupid mom knew she was rocking back but didn't see the ground was much higher where her back feet were positioned - so total yuckiness in the photo is credited to both human and K-9) |

One of my personal favorites - hunting in the snow. |
