Video Games

After many delays, I finally got a copy of the game on May 26,1999.  I have to admit, it was worth the wait.  First of all, this game will definitely earn the best packaging award if there is one.  There are total four discs and one large booklet, two discs for the game, one for the sountrack (really good), and finally the making of Lunar (pretty lame).
In Lunar, you play as Alex, an adventurer who is on an adventure to become his idol known as the Dragonmaster, alone the way you will meet many new friends, some will be good to you, while the others will betrayed you, who can you trust?.  The story seem very simple, but the way it presented is really good.
The Gameplay in this game is very simple, and not much different from all others RPG out there. The battle engine is turn base, which mean you attack and then wait until all the enemies finish attacking you, then your turn to attack again.  The dungeon on this game is a bit small, however, the enemies is very very tough, is almost as tough as "Legend of Legaia".
The Graphics will remind you back in the day when 16 bits is the king.  Is 2D sprite, and the characters is bit square-ish at a time, especially when you in the world map.  But there a positive side to this negative, the hand drawn japanimation and CGI combine ANIME Full Motion Video (FMV) is the best, and there are many FMV throughout the game, is like watching an anime video, but this time you get to control the characters.
The Sound FX in this game is o.k, not spectacular.  The Voice acting is really good, I'm very impressed. The music is pretty good, especially the intro song and the Lunar theme.
The control is very simple, you probably won't even need to read the intruction booklet (hard cover, 70 pages in color), there is one thing that I really like about the control in this game is that the control will vibrate during some FMV if you have a Dual Shock controller plug in and you can turn the vibration of by pressing R2 button.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this game to any RPG fanatics out there.  This game might not have anything new or 80 possible endings like "Star Ocean 2" or flashy graphic like "Final Fantasy VIII", but what this game do have is great japanimation, story, and lovable characters, also not to mention some pretty hot girls.

Best Feature
Many anime cut scences,
control vibrate during FMV,
lots of humor, excellent voice
acting, and don't have to pay to
recover full HP and MP
like other RPG games.
Worst Feature
The graphic is 2D sprite,
and the game is a bit short,
but it still can last up
to 40 hours.
