Here's the sequel for the N64 we've been waiting for! The fight for
peace and tranquility continues in Turok 2 seeds of evil! Is this sequel
better than the first? Let's take a look.
So, what's new? Well, there's more weapons, stages, enemies, and above
all a death match option. The weapons had been approved greatly, and I
mean greatly! Here are some of the new weapons that you can add to your
arsenal: a Shredder(an upgrade to your shotgun, fires bluish laser that
spreads and bounces off walls hitting your enemies in the "hard to reach"
places), a Cerebral bore (goriest weapon out of the whole game!), a War
blade (an upgrade to your talon, great for spiders), a Proximity fragmentation
mine layer, Sun fire pods, a Tranquilizer gun (can be upgraded to use electricity),
and a Mag 50.
Stages in Turok 2 seeds of evil are indefinitely incredible! Not
like the first, you'll be running around shooting bad guys in marsh pits,
towns, underground caves, alien hideouts and many more! With the 4 MB upgrade,
(WHICH MUST BE USED AT ALL COSTS!) you'll actually feel like you're in
these magnificent drawn worlds! I like the stages so much that when I finish
killing every single enemy around me in one stage, I always take a minute
to look at the stunning environment.
Turok 2 enemies have been highly upgraded. Their looks and intelligence
will totally open your eyes! If you shot at an enemy and miss, that enemy
will run to the place it thinks the shot came from! Cool huh! Do you remember
what happens when you shoot an enemy in Turok or any other first person
shooter? The enemy doesn't even flinch in pain! Now in Turok 2, they do
depending on where you shoot! For example, when you shot an enemy in the
head, it dies instantly! By the way, aiming is done easily thanks to Turok
2's innovated sniper mode available when using a tek bow and plasma rifle.
The death match option is a great addition to Turok 2. Now you can fight
against up to four human players instead against the CPU. In this
mode and only this mode, a new weapon is available to use, the assault
gun. There are different ways to duke it out in death match, one of which
is my favorite..."monkey mode". Here, one player is a monkey and the other
player is just normal. The player, who's the monkey, tries to find a "transformer
platform" to change back to normal while avoiding getting killed by the
other opponent. If successful, the player who was normal will eventually
turn to a monkey changing roles(the hunter is now the hunted!).
With all the additions Acclaim has put in Turok 2, it's no wonder why people
call it the best first person shooter ever! Add this game to your collection!
