Here's yet another translation of a Capcom arcade game. At first, I thought
it was going to be the same as Darkstalkers with just more characters....but
I was wrong.
So what's new? For starters there's counters, tech hits ( for throws),
more super levels, more powerful special moves, ground hits, Darkforce,
art viewing option, and of course new characters. Everything in pratically
self explanitory what the new additions are ( for example ground hits are
hitting your opponent on the ground for more combos) except for Darkforce.
What's a Darkforce? A Darkforce let's you be more "powerful" for a limited
of time. To do Darkforce, you push any punch and kick button at the sametime
when you have 3 levels. Here's an example. Using Darkforce when playing
Morrigan will make Morrigan a duplicate of her at the back of your opponent.
You'll deliver twice the damage!
How's the gameplay? The gameplay is, like always, the same as Street Fighter.....just
hyped up a bit. Combos are mostly done within the same format: light, medium,
and fierce. What really makes this game fun are the creative ways to K.O.
your opponent and vivid animation Capcom put into this game (play Baby
Robin Hood to get what I mean!).
Control is very good. The characters react very well to your controller
from punching, kicking, jumping, and dashing. Capcom made much improvements
from their previous game X-men vs StreetFighter. Sound/music in Darkstalkers
3 causes no problem at all. Voices are really clear to hear, but hard to
understand for they are mostly said in Japanese!
Darkstalkers 3 will probably last 2-3 months before it loses its appeal,
so I recommend you not to buy it. Though if you like a little change in
your taste on Capcom fighting games (and you're rich!).......go get it!
