Chapter 13
Brian called me at work the next morning and we made plans to go to the Italian restaurant that we went to on our first date. I was to
meet him at his house at 6:00 and we would head out from there.
After leaving work early at 4:00, I rushed home to take a quick shower so that I didnt smell like animals. After getting ready, I left
home heading to Brians house wearing one of his favorite dresses.
I got to his house just before 6:00 and rang the doorbell. I couldnt hear it ringing on the other side, so I knew it had to have been
acting up again. Brian told me that it had been doing that lately and he kept meaning to call someone to come out and fix it. I knocked
on the door a few times, but didnt get an answer. Knowing that it was a big house and he probably couldnt hear the knocking unless he
was in the family room, I used the key he gave me to let myself in.
I walked in and was getting ready to call out his name when I heard him and Leighanne in the kitchen. I could hear them talking and
slowly made my way in.
I dont know what you see in her Brian I could hear Leighanne saying. Shes just not your type. There is no way she could love you
like I do. You know that you need me. You know it.
Just as I was rounding the corner, I saw something that made my heart sink. Brian was leaning up against the counter with Leighanne
facing him. They were kissing.
I must have made a noise because Brian looked over and saw me. Pushing Leighanne away, he started walking toward me as I backed
away. Lynn
No! I dont want to hear it Brian. I saw what I saw and there is no denying that. Just leave me alone. By this point, I was crying so
hard that I was sobbing in between the words. I turned and ran out of his house to my car, driving away and not looking back.
