What is "The Angel in the house?" Or who is "The Angel in the house?" In my mind, I consider "The Angel in the House" is a role that protects the house and family. She is like an angel. "She was utterly unselfish. She excelled in the difficult arts of family life. She sacrificed herself daily." Her name is mother.
For Virginia, she considered that "the angel in the house" is a traditional role and she didn't like it. She chose her road and she really did well in literary. However, being a mother or a career woman both are difficult and need courage. Killing the angel in the house or being the angel in the house, which is respectable and which is better? Usually, there are two roads for modern women: to carry out her own dreams or to be a mother in family. Killing the angel in the house needs to give up the family life and maybe have to bear loneness; however, you can do what you want and what you like to do. To be a mother also needs courage to give up your dream and pays everything, including youth, time and life. I would never look upon to those who choose to be the angel and profession woman.
When I was young, I was fool and stupid. At that time, I didn't like my mother. I thought that my mother didn't have her own dreams. If she had, why did she give up them so easy and prefer to stay in this boring house and do the same thing day by day? I didn't understand her and life complete. I thought I was right; however, I am wrong. I am complete wrong.
After several years, I understand she loves us too much to kill the Angel in the house. On the other ways, she gave up her dreams for her children and family. How full I am. I am shame of myself. She is the greatest person in my family. She has washed dish, washed clothes, cooked meals and did everything for my family day by day without complaint. The only words she told her children- my sister, my brother and I- as long as you get good grades and have a good job then I will be so happy and feel everything I do is worth. Why does she pay for everything without complaint? It is because of Love! Even thought, I cannot return her love forever.
Which is better to be a protector in the house or to carry out the dreams? I have no idea. Both of them are good. However, you get something and you get something. This is life.
