Sully lives alone in an apartment that his grandfather pays for when he isn't at school. He isn't really an orphan, per say, but he has disowned his immediate family, and the rest of his family has disowned him, so that might be the best word to describe him. His grandfather only slightly cares because he is an important man in his own circles, and he wouldn't like other people knowing that he lets his grandson live on the streets when it is well known he has enough money to make a difference. Sully's mother was the next thing up to a prostitute, and lives several towns away from where Sully's own small flat is. Sully's father is not quite happily married to his sixth wife, and ignores Sully as best he can, since Sully represents a few months of mistake that he regrets immensely. Sully's art somewhat makes his grandmother proud, and she has several pieces that he didn't like hanging up in her room - where, incidentally, nobody but her sees them. Sully himself doesnt know she has them - and he'd try to get them back if he did. His grandparents care just enough to make sure he's getting reasonable marks in school, and then not very much more than that. Sully doesnt usually let his past affect himself. He is actually kind of happy living alone in his apartment - he wants a cat when he's out of school though. He realises this doesn't give him any really valid excuses, so he doesn't let his personal life affect his actions with his lovers - although there is a reason he is afraid to love, and it affects his relationships much more than he'd care to admit. |

| Kael is the baby of his family - aside from two younger sisters. He's the baby boy of the family, and Since his parents only really care about the two oldest boys, He is the runt of the litter. His mother prefers girls, so his younger sisters have no problem getting spoilt, but none of them actually care about Kael's existence. His mother summons him home every so often to get him to buy her things out of his rather meagre inheritance - and she wouldnt even do that much if she didnt need his physical presence to open the account. His older brothers tend to ignore him, and as he can vaguely remember being ganged up on when he was younger, he tends to be very happy about this. He only shows the proper respect whenever they deem him worthy of their conversation. Kael manages to spend most of the time in the stables or the kennels when he's at home - so long as his father isnt there. If his father is there, then, even when no one really cares, Kael must act and conduct himself like a good heir - even if he isn't. Occasionally he is called upon to play the violin or the flute for guests while one of his sisters plays the piano. He doesn't mind that they usually get more praise than he does. He's used to it. He doesn't like his family, but he works harder than his nature usually would, just o try and earn their approval, or even their acknowledgement. Having missed out on love for most of his life, it's not really surprising he clings to it when he thinks he finds it in Sully. Even being openly cheated on is preferable to no love at all -it's the most recognition he is ever going to get, he thinks, and so he allows it. Unfortunately, he gets jealous rather easily - almost too easily - and dependency and jealousy are not a very pleasant mix. |
