Biography

Lois Pewterschmidt was born in the early 60's in Newport, Rhode Island to Carter and Barbara Pewterschmidt. She was the middle child of three. She has an older brother Patrick, and a younger sister Carol. Her family is one of the wealthiest and most affluent in Rhode Island. She is married to Peter Griffin and has had three children. Meg (17), Chris (14), and Stewie (1).

Lois spent much of her young childhood living the life of a millionaire's daughter, until her teenage years, when she started to rebel in response to her father's harsh disciplinarian manner. She became quite adventerous and precocious. Among some of her escapades are dating Chaim Witz (later to become Gene Simmons of KISS) known then as "Loose Lois". [
Road to Europe] She also dated J. Geils, the "pyro guy" of Whitesnake. [And the Weiner Is...,] She was also a "Plaster Caster", and made genital molds of celebrities including Daryl Hall from singing duo Hall & Oates. [Brian the Bachelor] Lois alludes to having attended Kent State by mentioning the shootings that happened there. [The Story on Page One] All the while she was crowned Miss Teen Rhode Island and was offered a modelling career. Her father forbid she pursue this, believing it to be degrading to their upper-class name. [Model Misbehavior] She was set to participate in the Olympics, but her pregnancy with Meg prevented her from doing this. [Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story]

Before meeting Peter, there are some aspects to Lois that are unclear as they have not been seen. She may have been a lesbian, one day telling Meg that "woman are such teases, that's why I went back to men." [
Stewie Griffin:The Untold Story] Lois taught Meg how to kiss another girl, an action that is in harmony with this assumption. [Brian Sings and Swings] During one of Meg's sleepovers, Lois relates to Meg and her friends that she and her friends used to take turns practicing french kissing at their sleepovers. [Fifteen Minutes of Shame] Lois also had a supposed affair with a man named Stan Thompson, who was reported to be Meg's father by Brian in court. [Screwed the Pooch]

Lois met Peter Griffin while staying at the family country club. Peter had a summer job as a towel boy and was captivated by Lois from the very first moment he saw her. She found him easy-going and funny, in sharp contrast to the suitors around her, which were uptight, self-centered upper-class snobs. [
Peter Peter Caviar Eater] She made the first move in their relationship by rejecting the advances of her suitors and sneaking to the staff's hang out spot and seeking Peter out. They began dating, much to the dismay of her father. Carter Pewterschmidt on meeting Peter for the first time offered him a million dollars to leave and never see Lois again, which he rejected and which Lois overheard, endearing her to him. [Death Lives]

Lois and her family are Protestant, this goes against Peter's Catholic background and his father who is a staunce Catholic. When Lois and Peter get married, Peter's father Francis paints "To a Protestant Whore" underneath the Just Married sign on their limo. [
Holy Crap] Peter's father hates Lois much the same way Lois' father hates Peter, but for different reasons. Lois gave up her inheritance to be with Peter, but her relationship with her father seems to be healed somewhat by now. The family visit the Pewterschmidts regularly and Lois still calls Carter Daddy.

Lois now spends most of her time living the life of the typical American housewife, taking care of home and family. She teaches piano lessons in the afternoon to make extra money. She often dreams about being a concert pianist [
Mind Over Murder] and training students to win competitions. [Wasted Talent] She spends a lot of her time taking care of Stewie, one of whom's missions in life is to kill her, even though she is oblivious to this. Lois is often seen giving advice to Meg on personal matters such as popularity issues. Peter and Lois have considered having another child, but in the end decided they have enough children already. [Emission Impossible] Lois recently learned that she  has an older brother, Patrick, who spent much of his life in a mental institution after seeing their mother cheating on their father with Jackie Gleason. [The Fat Guy Strangler]

Lately, Lois has been going through a renaissance of her own. When Lois felt as though Peter wasn't giving any weight to her input, she asserted herself by learning Tae Jit-su and becoming agressively dominate with people. [
Lethal Weapons] She and Meg went to a Spring Break party where Lois spent much of the time getting drunk and teaching Meg how to be wild. [A Fish Out of Water] After she realised that listening to her father has often resulted in her missing out on opportunities, she reinitiated her modelling career with the purpose of proving to herself that she can do what she wants with her life. [Model Misbehavior] After Peter finds out that the passion in their marriage isn't as great as it has been, Lois convinces him they should have another honeymoon to rekindle the passion between them. After being kidnapped by Mel Gibson and rescued by Peter, this is just what happens. [North By North Quahog] You might call some of Lois' actions part of a mid life crisis as she consistantly reinvents herself. Lois has one short stint with kleptomania, but quickly realised it's was only a way to fill an overwise empty void in her life. [Breaking Out is Hard To Do] When Peter's libido suffers, she takes out the frustration by becoming a glutton and reaching obese proportions, only to suffer a heart attack, have all the fat removed, and realise that eating won't solve her problems. [Sibling Rivalry] Her journey is somewhat different from Peter's in that she learns lessons from her actions, whereas Peter learns nothing.
