Darkness Beautiful
Put in a secret place,
I lay naked, open.

Like a birthday present-
wrapping torn,
excitement gone-
used for a moment
and the next year
tossed aside.

Though I do not
lie alone, unwanted.

They are here with me.
The used and broken,
tattered and torn,
all lie here in the
shadows,
while time crumbles their dreams.

Am I to lie here in the dark?
I've always been afraid of the dark.

Nothing compares to the abyss we share,
but I am not afraid.

You are alone
out there in the light,
while we lie here in wait,
our colors fading...

and fading....

Here my heart lies
with the rest of them.
All of us,
dry roses.
