Isaac Kokkinidis

Some Personal Information

I was born on the 23rd September 1970 in Komotini, a small town in northern Greece. During my college years I was living in Thessaloniki, the second biggest city of my country.

I consider myself very lucky for being grown up in such a beautiful country as Greece; beautiful in both its landscape and people. More information on my country is available in my travel photo page.

Frequently Asked Questions About Me

Where are you right now?

Since September 1999 I am living in Athens, Greece. Before, I was at Helsinki, Finland, working for Siemens Mobile Communications, located at Espoo. And before that, I was a postgraduate student in London. Are you planning to come to Athens? Are you living in Athens? Drop me a mail for a a coffee!

Why did you continue your studies three whole years after graduation?

Well, in Greece male people have to serve to the national army for about one year and a half. Adding my one-year research placement at IPL and my three months in Brussels, you can get the total of three years.

More personally now, what are your hobbies?

Although I am not what is called a sportsman, I enjoy playing basketball and swimming. Sport on TV is OK for me, mostly football (soccer for Americans) and basketball. I am a fan of PAOK Thessaloniki.
I also love camping and mountaining, especially when accompanied by some nice friends and with a good deal of supplies of cooked-on-the-fire food, retsina and ouzo.

That was all?

No, absolutely not. I love travelling, meeting foreign people, getting to know their lifestyles and habits, and that is the reason why I included a travel section in my home page.
I enjoy reading fantasy fiction, preferably JRR Tolkien. I am also a fan of Iain M. Banks Culture series, and I enjoyed the Douglas Adams The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books.
My favourite rock groups used to be Metallica, Guns'n'Roses, and Queensryche, but currently I can listen to any kind of music, from pop to indie. Latest favourites: Garbage, The Verve, Pulp, Radiohead.
Computer games always kept me in front of the screen, particularly sport, driving, and flight simulators. Although I seldom surf around the internet, I regularly use email to communicate with my friends. Drop me a mail now, or add me to your address book.
