Ah, doesn't the name just sound nice? Gran Turismo 3. Mm, mm, mmm! I just love saying it...ANYWAY, moving on! For all you people out there who love racing games, this one is for you. Normally, I am not a fan of racing games. It is very rare that I do play a racing game and enjoy it. So, saying that I realllllllly like this game...means quite a lot!
First things first. The graphics in this game are GORGEOUS! There's even one track where you can see cows grazing in a pasture ahaha! This game isn't for the weaklings though, it gets tough.
You can play in 5 modes in the Arcade Menu: Single Race, Time Trial, Free Run, or 2 Player Battle. You can also play in...wait for it...CAREER MODE!:>:>:>. Well, maybe it doesn't sound that fun, but it is! You start off Career Mode with 20,000 credits. These "credits" are what you use to pay for things in the game and you earn them by winning races. The more credits you have, the more cool cars you can buy. One thing I found very cool was how they intergrated information about each car in the game.
Along with all this neat stuff I guess I should tell you that this game has a sweet soundtrack with songs like 99 Red Balloons by Goldfinger. Also, the game has really, really nice graphics but the controls are really touchy. I don't normally use the directional buttons but for this game I have to. And even when you do use the directional buttons, it's still touchy! You have to tap the buttons ever so slightly so that your car doesn't slam into the walls. It takes a lot of getting used to, but eventually you learn and the game doesn't seem that hard. But I do have one word of advice...don't sell the cars you win for credits!!! You need them later on for other races!!! Whew, there, I'm okay now. Anyway, now that it's on sale for only $30...go buy it! I think this is one classic game that no PS2 owner should be without.
