A DREAM

The mist is thick.
I dont remember what I feel.
Just the sound of the ocean.
We float along through the mist of heavenly scent.
We look at each other, he and I.
As we row through a never ending sea.
Or does it?
We dont speak as we see the form in the distance.
Its beauty raises my heart into my throat and I realize what I look at now.
I say a word and jump.
I leave the small boat and the man in it.
I dont look back
I just know what is ahead
And hope my expectations dont fall into the mist.
I raise myself out of the sweet water and run to my wish.
With such happiness in my heart, a bracelet breaks,
And I awake with new strength.
EXPLANATION

I would like to explain the poem entitled A Dream.  It actually was a real dream that I had.  I had it about four years ago.  I was really sick and I had just been recovering from a second surgery of the stomach.  I had bought a bracelet in the hospital gift shop right before I returned home.  It was a small piece of intertwined rope with beads on it.  The beads were red, and on the tag it said that the beads stood for strength.  It stated that when the bracelet fell off, I would have renewed strength.  I gave it a try and put the bracelet on.  I never took it off.
Now, during this time, I was in massive therapy.  The therapist and I had created a special place within my head that I could go to before I went to sleep at night.  This place consisted of a control room in which I was able to control nausea, stress, sickness, et cetera.  Also, I had a castle that I went to.  This castle had an unlimited number of rooms and activities.  It was the place where all my wishes would come true.  It was full of gardens, beaches, trampolines, and toys.
I had never dreamed of this place, I just imagined it while I was awake.  Until one night.  I dreamed that I was riding in a small boat with my dad in the ocean.  There was a very heavy mist that was enabling us to see anything except each other. We were rowing and rowing until we saw a castle. I knew it was my castle in which I would go before I went to sleep.  I just remember the happiness in my body when I saw it.  I was so excited.  I remember saying to my dad The castle!  I jumped into the water.  I remember it was very refreshing and it tasted very sweet.  It was everything I had imagined it to be.  I saw the gardens of golden apples and the beaches. I remember just being so happy at the time.
Thats when I woke up.  I was feeling refreshed and strong.  I rolled over in my bed and there it was.  My bracelet.  It had fallen off during the night.  It was rather eerie because I did in fact feel very strong internally and mentally.  It truly was the best dream I have ever had.
