Self-Defense

Job 28-31 is Job's final defense before his 3 friends; they would not say much to him in the book after this. Job discusses the value of wisdom, his past glory and present suffering, and a complete statement of Job's innocence which invokes penalties for fraud.

There is, of course, no need for either Job or ourselves to do this, because God searches and knows us completely (Psalm 139). It does, however, clear Job of the kind of accusations his friends were heaping upon him.
