Rebuilding the Community

Nehemiah 7-13 focuses on the cleansing of the people of Jerusalem. They hear the Law, celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, confess their sins, and make a fresh start. Nehemiah also corrects issues with keeping the Sabbath and separation from foreigners after leaving Jerusalem for a while.

We all have internal and external issues, like the Jews of Nehemiah's time. Building our walls by changing our outward walk with God helps out. But the internal issues of sin need to be dealt with so that the walls are not destroyed again and again.
