A Secure Place for Worship1 Chronicles 18-22 is about more of David's conquests, the census, and the choice of a permanent place of worship in Israel. David defeated all the nations around him, then after a census foolishly taken was shown the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, which David bought from him. David then commissions his son Solomon to build the temple, providing plenty of supplies for the project. David had longed to build the temple, but God reserved it for Solomon; however, God wanted David to have everything ready for Solomon, including the place for the temple to be built. The same is true in our lives, that we should make preparations for those who will follow us, that others can carry on our ministry and that God gets the glory. 2006-03-20 06:31:26 GMT
