"On the road again..."

Genesis 10-12 has a lot to do with moving. Of course, it takes a bit of prodding by God to get people to move, as demonstrated in the Tower of Babel incident. And Abram moved to Canaan when God told him to do so. Such is the way of things. It is a continual theme in Scripture that people are generally more faithful when they aren't settling down. This is not saying that we shouldn't settle down today, although we should consider ourselves "...strangers and pilgrims on the earth (Hebrews 11:13 NKJV)."   When we are on the move, we focus less on the work of our hands and building lasting monuments and more on the work of God's hands and His eternal glory.
