Cleaning House

Joshua 6-12 details the conquest of the Promised Land. From Jericho to Ai, from the south to the north, the land is reclaimed for God. However, the biggest foe the people faced was themselves -- Rahab putting away her past as a prostitute, Israel dealing with the greed of Achan, and the leaders overcoming their gullibility with the Gibeonites.

Such is the way of things.  In overcoming hurdles we face ourselves, which is often our biggest enemy.  And when we are victorious, we inherit a godly character, which grows over time with each battle we fight.
