Entry for February 12, 2006
ConflictDeuteronomy 20-22 deals with war, unsolved murder, captives taken in battle, inheritance rights, rebellious children, responsibility for lost items, accusations against women, and cases involving rape. Also mentioned are liability issues and not mixing seeds or work animals together. God is a perfect and just judge who knows how to deal with conflict. He also knows how to take measures to keep it from happening, and how to go to war when war is just and necessary. As people who live in the midst of sin, conflict will be with us. But Christ, in fulfillment of Deuteronomy 21:23, became a curse for us so that we might no longer be under the curse of the law (Galatians 4:13), and so that we may love our neighbor as ourselves freely, and out of a desire to do so instead of under compulsion. May God be praised! 2006-02-13 02:00:14 GMT
