Women, Responsibility, and Authority

Numbers 30-31 talks about laws concerning vows and the attack on the Midianites. Men were not to be released from their vows under any circumstances, but married women and women living with their fathers could be overruled.  When the children of Israel went to attack the Midianites, they killed all the men, and later all of the children and any women who were not virgins, yet kept the virgins alive.

Today we believe that women have all of the rights and responsibilities as do men.  This, of course, includes honesty and faith in God, even if they are married or living at home with their fathers.  Paul tells women in the church that they should not leave unbelieving husbands, but tells them that they may very well win them over.
