Separation and Purification

After a series of rebellions, Numbers 17-19 deals with the separation of the Levites as priests and the purification of persons who were ceremonially unclean.   Aaron and his tribe, the Levites, are set apart, and no one else is allowed access to the tabernacle.  The Levites are told what their wages would be, as well as their own tithe to God.  A procedure is then described for sacrificing a red heifer for purifying people who are unclean.

Today we as Christians are priests to our God, and we are cleansed by the blood of Christ.  We may approach God at any time in prayer, and are invited to do so.  We should always be thankful to God for this gift.
