Thanks be to God!

Leviticus 23-27 covers feasts, the lamps and bread of the tabernacle, the sanctity of God's name, times of rest and restoration of property, consequences of obedience and disobedience, and dedication of people and property to God. In all these things a recognition of who God is and what He has done takes center stage.  The people of Israel were moved to thank God for all that He did and to treat His name and His mercy with the utmost respect.

We should have a similar attitude today.  God has cleaned our slate and considered us righteous, which should make us consider how we relate to God and how we approach Him in worship.  I find that there are so many reasons to be thankful to God, and this should move me to be merciful to those around me.
