Entry for January 19, 2006
(Re)constructionIn Exodus 32-40 several things take place. First of all, Aaron and the people of Israel fail by making a golden calf to worship. Moses intercedes on behalf of the people and calls to mind the promises that God has made. The people are punished for their sin in part by having to drink water mixed with powder from the pulverized idol. Moses reiterates the Sabbath regulations, and the people provide materials for and then build the tabernacle. At the end of the book God's glory fills the tabernacle, guiding His people to the Promised Land once more. There are times that we will fail. God is merciful to us, and gives us chance after chance to start again. 2006-01-19 22:35:39 GMT
