Judgment Day

Jeremiah 46-52 describes judgment on Egypt, Moab, Damascus, Arabia, Edom, and Babylon as well as recounting the fall of Jerusalem. Judah is not alone in facing God's wrath; all of the surrounding nations will face judgment for their own sins as well, including Babylon, which in Jeremiah's day was the instrument of God's judgment. While Babylon would be used to punish all of the nations in its day God promised that Babylon would be destroyed for its own wickedness.

God is sovreign, and He rules the nations with a rod of iron. He also has promised mercy to Israel and an everlasting throne for David's descendants. Though He allowed Babylon her 15 minutes of fame, her time would soon be over and Israel would be restored to the Promised Land after God's wrath subsided.
