"Let My people go!"Exodus 7-14 is about a distinction that God makes between the people of Israel and the people of Egypt. Israel is God's chosen people, the people that God promised to make a great nation. God brought Jacob and his sons down to Egypt, they multiplied and became a large people, Pharaoh enslaved them, and now God sends His plagues upon the Egyptians to release them to become a free nation. God sets apart His people through the blood of the Passover lamb, which spares the firstborn of those who have the blood on the doorposts and lintel. Then He seals the deal by drowning Pharaoh's army in the Red Sea, clearing the way for a new era in the covenant relationship between God and His people. We should give praise to God that He has chosen us to be His people today, and that we can be called His people through the blood of the ultimate Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ. 2006-01-15 17:49:14 GMT
