Prophet and King

In Isaiah 36-39 Isaiah encourages Hezekiah through siege and sickness, from which God delivers Hezekiah and his people, and rebukes him for showing off his treasures to the Babylonian envoys. God works through those things to keep His promises, and to show that He alone is Judah's salvation.

Real God, Real Comfort

In Isaiah 40-44 God is contrasted with idols. The one true God, who existed from before the beginning, who made the earth and saves His people, is better than blocks of wood and stone overlaid with silver, gold and bronze, which do not move or speak.
