Entry for May 14, 2006
Foreign influenceProverbs 30-31 are not originally from Solomon or possibly even from Israel. They are proverbs from people who were at least originally from other lands who acquired wisdom through various sources, yet either came to know Israel's God, or the proverbs were heard by Israelites and adapted for their use. Either way, these two chapters are full of practical wisdom on human relationships in many spheres of life. God's wisdom is not hidden, and many out there have a measure of true wisdom from which we can learn. But it will never be complete without Him, and we must learn to rely on Him fully to get the most out of human relationships. 2006-05-15 02:12:03 GMT
