Proverbs 16-21 continues where Proverbs 10-15 left off, giving short sayings of wisdom to those who will listen. And listening is very important, for it is what separates the wise man from the fool, the just man from the wicked.

P.S. Diligence and laziness are also contrasted, and each have weight in the realm of morality, as diligence allows one to earn a living and provide for others. In other words, being wise and righteous includes working hard. But it also should be noted that we are not saved by working hard, only that we will work as hard as we can if we are truly saved.
